Upcoming Resonance Auditions POSTED AT 06:26 PM If you've dropped by this website because you've just seen Resonance at the Freshman Inauguration Ceremony, have caught a glimpse of bright yellow Resonance posters along the school corridors and notice boards, have discovered a Resonance flyer from your journey through matriculation fair, and --most important of all-- are interested to be part of us... Resonance will be having our auditions from 21st to 25th August (Monday to Friday), 6pm to 8pm, at Yusof Ishak House, CAC Clubroom (go up the staircase--3 flights--from the University Wellness Centre-- We're just opposite the NUSSU Secretariat) Quick FAQ: 1. What is the difference between CAC Resonance and CAC Voices? Ans: Resonance sings a cappella (w/o instruments or backing tracks), while Voices always sings accompanied. Also, Voices sings mainly pop (Chinese pop in particular) and only as solos or duets, while Resonance sings songs across many genres, and always in groups. 2. Are you a choir? Ans: No, most definitely not. Choirs are large groups of at least 20+ singers, while we sing in far smaller groups, without a conductor. Each person sings a line by him/herself. 3. How often/when/where do you practice? Ans: We try to practice once or twice a week in the evenings. Venue varies depending on whether we can book rooms in YIH or PGP. 4. What do you look for in auditionees? Ans: No musical knowledge is required, though some singing background (e.g. in choirs) is advantageous. Good pitching and musical memory is essential. You only need to prepare a song (or part of a song, in any language and genre) for the auditions. Any further queries? Email them to nusresonance@yahoo.com.sg, and we'll get back to you soon! say..what?
